A Great First Day!

We had a wonderful first day of school.  It was a joy meeting all of my wonderful new third graders.  We made the most of our day by sorting through all our supplies, touring the room, introducing ourselves to our classmates, and learning the expectations of third grade.  We also met up with Mrs. Jensenius's and Mrs. Salvat's classes to discuss how we will be switching classes/classrooms for science, social studies, keyboarding/cursive/technology, and math.

CHECK THE BACKPACK
Each night our students will be bringing home their planner and their red take home folder.  This will be the place to look for important papers and homework.  Today students brought home our third grade survival guide.  Please read over the information in the guide and return the signed last page to school.  Also send in your child's enrollment form and "I'm coming home early" form if you have not already done so.

SNACKS
In order to keep healthy eating as a focus this year, we as a third grade are doing fruits and veggies for snack this year.  This can include things like applesauce, bananas, fruit snacks, dried fruit (NO NUTS), raisins, carrot sticks, cucumbers, celery sticks, etc.  In order to keep the mess to a minimum, please do not send in dips with their snacks (ranch, peanut butter, etc.).

I am looking forward to a great school year!  See you all at Parent Night on Monday at 6:30 pm.
